To register as a volunteer, you have three options.
The easiest way is to go to the Do-it website.
Type in your postcode and you can see the range of roles available and apply straight away. Your
information will be automatically sent to us and we will process your application and forward your details
to the relevant organisation(s).
Contact us on 01344 304404 to be sent a paper copy. Once this has been returned, we will
contact you to discuss your options.
Things to consider:
Applying for volunteering is like applying for a job so please be clear and concise and don't
forget to include ANY experience or knowledge you have of a particular organisation or related issue
to support your application.
If you are applying online, please ensure you read the Skills/Experience section of the opportunity
and also the information about when the volunteer is required – make sure you can be available!
If you are on benefits, here is a
leaflet on volunteering which may help you understand what you are able to do.
Each organisation has its own recruitment process, so you may be asked to complete a Disclosure &
Barring form (criminal record check). No checks will be made without your consent.
As with any application, yours may take some time to process so please be patient – we know you are
keen and we will do everything we can to maintain your enthusiasm!
If, because of a disability, learning issue or mental health issue, you feel you would like to be
supported in finding a volunteer role, please email us and our specialist
support volunteer will contact you to discuss further.
