    Yorkshire born and 'bread'!

    From scrumptious scones to succulent sweet pies – three generations of the Gilchrist family have baked them all.

    Our first bakery in Leeds opened in 1951. We now have three bakeries in Leeds and one in Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire.

    Over six decades, we have perfected our baking art. So, every pie, quiche, savoury or loaf of bread is given the same care and affection by our team of skilled bakers. 

    Coming from Yorkshire, we think we know a bit about what people in Leeds and further afield want. That means freshly-baked cakes and bread for the family, lunchtime sandwiches and pasties that hit the spot and specialty cakes and treats for the family. Our bakers hand mould all our rolls, pastries and cakes everyday, ensuring that you get the freshest bread for your breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.

    So forget the multi-branch bakers or the big stores, we're a family business producing freshly made cakes, sandwiches and bread on our premises – all with quality in mind. With us, it's personal!

    Locally sourced ingredients

    We pride ourselves on the high quality of baked goods and all our flour and ingredients are locally sourced. In fact, we still bake with flour milled by E B Bradshaw and Son, based in the Yorkshire Wolds.
